It’s rather a sight to travel by boat in the grotto when thousands of glowworms light every bit of the way. The glowworms are only part of the caverns, beginning the sight to the subterranean cave with limestone shafts to explore. It has existed to attract visitors for over 120 years. Glow worms are something that always remind me of James the Giant Peach. I thought this was an interesting place to mention since most know about Hobbiton. Waitomo Caves, New Zealand – Also known as the Glowworm Caves. It looks like a portal to another dimension where you just walk in and dive to visit creatures of all kinds. The pressure in the sand causes a disruption in how the water appears. You can practically walk on the beach and have your own natural doodle pad. You can even view them from a distance due to their size. Just clusters and good old strength in numbers. They’re so tightly knit the closer they get to the beach that they glow brightest when they reach it. They glow blue due to electric signals in their cells. It’s a natural phenomena, nothing but Phyto plankton that cause the sea to mirror the sky. Sea of Stars, Vaadhoo Island, Maldives – A wonderful show of how weird nature can be. It’s an important crossroads between Egypt, Syria-Phoenicia, and Arabia. Man made things being taken over are one thing, but the shear magnificence of what exists is my favorite. That’s not even from just nature’s creations. It’s hard to believe that some of these places even exist outside of a painting. ![]() There are broken down houses and buildings that have been overtaken by nature.
